I've been complaining about the hot weather that has continued to linger around here giving the illusion that summer would never end. Just two days ago it was eighty-two degrees. I should've just kept my big mouth shut for a couple of more days at least.

Today we had a double birthday party, the first one I ever attempted for my two krazy kiddos.

And let's just say that Autumn has entered the scene.

Summer? What summer?

Our outdoor birthday party consisted of kids who seemed unphased by the weather change and parents huddling together shivering. Brrr....

It wouldn't have been so bad if not for the hurricane force winds. Well, okay I'm exaggerating a bit, but it was down-right windy out there. We speed-sung the happy birthday song while the wind repeatedly blew out the candles for us. My worries that the ice cream would melt were unnecessary to say the least. Hot soup and coffee would have been more appropriate.

But other than that, the birthday party was a success and another birthday season comes to a close.
